The Department
The Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering was constituted in the year 1995. From a modest beginning, the department has come a long way. Today, it is rated as one among the leading educational institutions of the state in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The mission of the department is to give the students a holistic view of the present scenario of the Electronics and Communication industry as well as a grounding in the concepts and theories that will shape the future of the industry. In order to ensure high standards of education for the students, the department has constantly upgraded itself by adding well-equipped and fully furnished laboratories to supplement the theory courses.
First, it is ensured that the students perceive the Electronic fundamentals thoroughly. Then, while fulfilling the requirements of the syllabus prescribed by the University, the course goes much further and offers students the opportunity to work on diverse hardware and software platforms.
Over the last few years, the department has seen excellent placements, with over 90% of its students placed in public and private sector corporations, including HCL, Wipro, Infosys, CTS, Satyam, L & T, VSNL etc.The department has seen a healthy and lucrative round of placements for its Batch of 2005, with most of its students placed. 8-10% percent of the students have gone abroad to pursue higher studies, and many have consistently secured admissions in prestigious institutes of India over the years, to pursue higher studies.
The ECE department has a very cohesive, like-minded team whose members have strong commitment towards teaching and research. The department regularly organizes several seminars and workshops to enhance the skills of both students and teachers.

Infractionz ‘07
The department organized a National Level Technical Symposium titled Infractionz ’07 in March last year. The event was received with great enthusiasm from the student community and served as a platform for developing their academic and interpersonal skills.
